  • Services may be selected individually or as a group. We will, upon evaluation of your requirements and preferences, recommend a plan to fill your requirements.
    1. Motor Survey -- This service includes identification of all motors included into the PM Group. Nameplate data is retrieved from all included equipment. A "unit number" is assigned and installed. A sheet will be supplied for each unit including all nameplate data, machine location, maintenance history, "like units", and test results. This service will allow you to locate common equipment (Like Units) in your motor stock. In the event of a breakdown, you will be able to easily seek a "like unit" from other machines in your plant or from stock. This will enhance your ability to alleviate the burden of extended downtime in critical areas. The motor identification numbering system will also allow you to keep accurate maintenance records, repair history, and other valuable equipment information.

    2. Specific Vibration Analysis -- The performance of vibration analysis on operating equipment will isolate specific problems and their cause. When performed ona frequent time schedule, vibration analysis will allow equipment to be repaired, and/or conditions corrected, prior to their becoming major, expensive breakdowns. Precision Electric performs vibration analysis using the Csi 2120 Dual Channel Machinery Analyzer and MasterTrend Software. When incorporated with our trained staff, this equipment and software will provide detailed information on your maintenance requirements to bearings, gears, air compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, alignment, belt tension, and other rotating equipment.

    3. Base-line and Trending Analysis -- Utilizing the Csi 2120 Analyzer and MasterTrend software this service includes a database develop[ment, base-line data acquisition, and analysis, regular monitoring, problem identification, and reporting. This information can be gathered and reports generated monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.

    4. Internal Component Inspection -- This service includes inspection of internal wearing parts on motors such as carbon brushes, brush springs, and commutators. These inspections can often offer adequate information without equipment downtime. A more thorough inspection, however, can be performed if the equipment can be "shut down" for a brief period of time.

    5. Dielectric Testing -- This service requires downtime on the equipment under test. Dielectric testing of ground insulation on DC motors & generators, AC motors and generators, transformers, cables, switchgear, and other electrical apparatus will locate potential faults. A DC High Voltage, non-destructive test is utilized to gather insulation leakage current and/or resistance. Test voltages can achieve up to 16,000 volts.

    6. Data Reporting -- Information can be supplied to you by several methods. You may recieve reports on all tests performed, reports on just "problem data", full nameplate data and associated test reports in a folder, binder, or on disc to be imported into your favorite database software. Our method of reporting data will be tailored to fit your requirements.

    7. Consultation -- Precision Electric offers basic mainteneance consultation services free of charge to all "frequent" customers. These services include recommendations and instruction on lubrication frequency and methodology, carbon brush replacement, blower filter maintenance, and application problems. Additional services available include our assistance in the set up of your in-house PM Programs, instruction of your maintenance staff, equipment management, and task implementation and assessment. Our in-plant seminars can address specific areas of concern, or be directed to generally improve upon the awareness of your maintenance staff as to their responsibilities concerning equipment condition.

    8. Follow-up -- When problem data of any kind is reported, we will make recommendations for corrective action. We will periodically follow-up to remind you to look for opportunities to take such action. The burden of follow-up is primarily placed upon you. Accurate and timely follow up is essential to the success of the program. We will go through test results and explain our findings. We will assist you in setting priorities for equipment requiring service. You will then be able to schedule repairs or installation of a back-up unit on weekends or when the equipment is scheduled to be down.

    9. Problem Correction -- Precision Electric offers repair services on nearly any type of electrical and mechanical equipment. These repairs can be made either in our facility or in your plant. The purpose of the Predictive Maintenance Program is to reduce or eliminate unexpected, major expensive downtime. Our expert staff will not only make necessary repairs, we will keep your equipment running better. Our objective is to maximize the service life from your operating equipment without the experince of major repairs and the resulting extended downtime.

    Infrared Services:

Precision Electric performs infrared thermography services on switch gears, contactors, motors, fuses, buss switches, gearboxes, and other equipment to determine a thermal signature. This will identify components that are over heated and when incorporated with a predictive maintenance program provide vital information to keep your equipment running.
