Overview
The KDR series are line reactors designed to reduce harmonic issues in variable frequency drives (VFD) installations. Besides protecting a VFD, the KDR series line reactors also prevent harmonics issues and transients from affecting 6-pulse rectifiers or similar devices.
To mitigate instances of voltage spikes, the KDR series can be used as a line reactor or load reactor. It can be installed before or after a VFD. When placed before the VFD, the KDR series line reactor protects the VFD from harmful transients. Placing the line reactor after the VFD ensures minimal voltage distortion leading to the motor.
Engineered by TCI, the KDR series line reactors are built with durability in mind. The robust construction made the line reactors a decent protection choice in applications like HVAC chillers, pumps, oil rigs, conveyors and sprinkler systems.
Using the KDR series line reactors help to ensure system compliance in accordance with the IEE-519-2014 standards for harmonic control. The line reactor reduces harmonic content and addresses power trips and system downtime. With better power factors, the VFD’s lifespan is increased.
TCI’s KDR series are designed for compact installations and a broad voltage range between 208 V-690 V; 0.25HP-1250HP. The line reactors are manufactured with premium materials and are UL and CE certified. On top of that, TCI offers a lifetime warranty for all KDR series line reactors.
KDRMA4L1-690V KDR Series Features
1. KDRMA4L1-690V KDR Series DIN Rail Reactor Option
Besides the AA and MA frame setups, the KDR series line reactors are available in DIN rail option. The DIN rail model of the KDR series allows setups to be done on standard 35mm DIN rails. This helps to reduce installation time and cost.
2. KDRMA4L1-690V KDR Series Impedance Options
KRD series line reactors are available in low and high impedance versions. Low impedance KDR series units are meant for applications where a 3% impedance reactor rating is required. These low impedance reactors reduce issues like overvoltage tripping of DC bus, capacitor transient voltages, and line notching.
Applications requiring 5% reactors will benefit from high impedance KDR series of line reactors. On top of the protection offered by the low impedance reactor, the high impedance counterpart greatly improve the harmonics without introducing capacitance.
3. KDRMA4L1-690V KDR Series Single Phase Application
While KDR series line reactors are designed to function on 3-phase applications, they can be configured for single phase usage with a decreased impedance value.
