Description

The A1000 series is top of the range variable speed drives engineered by Yaskawa. It is built with an optimal balance of quality, performance, flexibility and environmental friendly. The drives are an ideal choice for both simple installations like fans and pumps or complex machines.   Installers could choose from A1000 series model that features a wide range of motor capacity, ranging from ¾ to 1000 HP. The drives can be configured to operate in closed or open loop vector control mode.   Applications that require a robust variable speed drive will find the A1000 series a good fit. The drives feature fast acting current and voltage limiters which enable the drive to operate reliably during peak demands. Besides that, any changes in the motor temperature are offset by the built-in continuous auto-tuning feature.   Cost of installation is minimized by the A1000 series high slip braking mode which eliminates the need for external braking resistors. Besides cost reduction, the drive also has a contingency measure in the case of power failure with its auxiliary control power unit.   Communication is an indispensable feature in advanced variable speed drives, and the A1000 series supports major standard protocols. Operations engineer will be able to monitor and control the drive in real time without third-party modules.   The A1000 series has a removable terminal board with built-in configuration storage. This makes servicing and maintenance easy as there is no need to download the parameters when the drive is replaced manually.   Key highlights of the A1000 series:
  • Closed or open loop vector control for outstanding regulation, torque production, and position control capability.
  • Continuous Auto-tuning optimizes performance by compensating for changes in motor temperature.
  • High Frequency Injection enables high precision open loop control of Interior Permanent Magnet Motors.
  • Fast acting current and voltage limiters help achieve continuous drive operation during periods of excessive demand.
  • High Slip Braking reduces installation cost and the need for dynamic braking resistors
  • Communication options for all major industrial networks provides high speed control and monitoring, reducing installation cost.
  • DriveWizard computer software and Application Sets for easy configuration.
  • Auxiliary Control Power Unit maximizes production time and efficiency by maintaining network communication while main power is removed.
  • Embedded Safe Torque Off minimizes downtime for applications requiring occasional intervention (SIL CL2, PLd, Category 3).
  • Embedded function blocks, programmable with DriveWorks EZ, provide additional application flexibility and the opportunity to eliminate separate controllers.
  • USB Copy Unit and Keypad configuration storage provide speed and convenience for duplicate configuration of multiple drives.
  • Removable terminal board with configuration storage provides convenience of configuration backup.
  • Made with RoHS compliant materials.
  • Integrated DC Reactor (standard on 30HP and larger) for input harmonic reduction.
  • Kinetic Energy Braking allows drive to remain in control during momentary power losses.
  • Integrated 12 Pulse version provides a cost effective solution for low harmonics.
  • Flange version provides NEMA 12 backside integrity when mounting with heatsink external.

SI-EN3 A1000 Series Features

1. SI-EN3 Digital Operator

Configuring and operating the A1000 series drives is assisted by a digital operator consisting of buttons and LCD. The digital operator allows setting up parameters, basic operations of the drive and to review historical data of events and alarms.

2. SI-EN3 Communication Module

The A1000 series variable frequency drives support industrial Modbus protocol on a serial communication interface. Up to 31 drives can be connected on the RS422/RS485 interface to enable remote monitoring and control from a centralized station. 3. SI-EN3 Drive Programming

Besides setting up the A1000 series with the digital operator, system installers can make use of the DriveWorksEZ software to simplify the creation of function blocks. The parameter file can be transferred to multiple drives using a USB cable. [caption id="attachment_54436" align="alignnone" width="438"]Drive Programming Drive Programming[/caption]
