Description
The ACS250 drive is part of ABB's complete micro drive range, which offers a solution for every need - drives for simple to more complex machines. The drive is built to operate on a broad range of applications including conveyors, mixers, printing, fans, and pumps. It is available in IP20 and IP66 enclosures for installation in various operating environments.
From IP20 series you can find 1-phase 110 - 120 V drives for low power applications, such as pumps, fans, grinders, mixers and conveyors, and 600 V drives with more advanced features for general purpose applications. From IP66 series you can find a full range of products for harsh environments. IP66 drives are ideal for wash-down applications and the offering covers all the voltages from 1-phase 110 V to 3-phase 600V.
All the drives include a built-in Modbus-RTU serial communication. Intuitive key pad control and build-in macros make commissioning straightforward. IP66 enclosures are available with or without switch featuring a speed potentiometer, FWD-0.REW and power isolator. In 500 - 600 V advanced product types the additional features include e.g. CAN open interface and built-in safe-torque-off (STO) function.
Besides having a compact design, the ACS250 micro series supports a broad range of input voltage. The IP20 drives offer 115V and 600V options while the IP66 can be powered by a complete voltage range of 115 to 600V. The drive is also built with 150% peak overload capacity making it functional when stressed to its limit.
Feed-through wiring is a prominent feature in the IP20 ACS250 micro-series. It allows the drive to replace motor starters in existing panels easily. On the other hand, the IP60 ACS250 provide reliable operation in a washdown environment, such as the food and beverage application.
System installers installing the ACS250 micro-series will find the LED display on the control panel helpful in configuring and commissioning the drive. Setting up the drive involves configuring key parameters and can be aided with built-in macros. If multiple units need to be configured with similar parameters, the copy stick tool can be used
The ACS250 micro series also features an RJ45 port. The port is used to extend the connectivity of the drive on a serial RS485 interface. Operators can perform remote monitoring and control of the drive with standard Modbus protocol.

The ACS250 features a time-saving user interface that allows configuration and commissioning to be done rapidly. Technicians have access to an integrated keypad and display to change the operating parameters. The use of application macros allows the drive to be started with pre-programmed parameters.

Connectivity on the ACS250 micro-series is made possible with an RJ45 port. It functions as an RS485 interface that allows the drive to be controlled remotely via standard Modbus protocol.
