Overview
Manufactured in the UK, the DG1 are part of Eaton’s next generation PowerXL Series of adjustable frequency drives specifically made for more demanding commercial and industrial applications. The control module was designed to include standard communication protocols and I/O while still being modular to add additional option cards. Notably, the DG1 is highly flexible due to this modular setup.
Besides the robust performance, the DG1 is available in IP00, IP20, IP21, and IP54 enclosures. As a result, systems that demand limited dust input and limited water spray from any direction will find DG1 as ideal. Eaton’s patented Active Energy Control is a standard feature on DG1 drives, offering customers increased efficiency, safety and reliability.
In other words, the industry-leading energy efficiency algorithm, high short-circuit current rating and robust design, makes DG1 a environment friendly, efficient and reliable option for many applications. For example, features such as the auto change function, damper start, pipe fill function, dry run of belt demolition detection and fire mode function emphasize the DG1 as a premium product for usage in the market segments HVAC, water/wastewater and industrial mediums handling. Additionally the DG1 can withstand up to 150% overload making them favorable for more demanding applications as well.
Installation of the DG1 is made simple with the keyhole mounts and pluggable control terminals. Parameter configuration is done via the integrated keypad and display which allows for control of the drive. The built-in integral brake transistor and EMI/RFI filter also mean reduced external components during installation. Installers can also program the drive with the Power Xpert software.

1. DG1-34072FN-C21C Power Xpert inControl Software
The PowerXL Series PC Tool is designed for programming, controlling and monitoring the DG1 drives. Features include loading parameters that can be saved to a file or printed, setting references, starting and stopping the motor, monitoring signals in graphical or text form, and real-time display.
2. DG1-34072FN-C21C Safe Torque Off
The DG1’s built-in safe torque off feature immediately disables the drive in abnormal conditions. The feature removes the need for an external input contactor and additional wiring, which leads to faster installation. It also offers better safety standards compared to mechanical solutions.
3. DG1-34072FN-C21C Expandable In Line with Your Needs
Should the standard input/output options prove insufficient (as may be the case in multi-pump applications, for example), two expansion slots are available that can be used for virtually any task. This not only includes analog and digital inputs and outputs, but also various communication modules:
