Overview
The NES1 series are economical inverters engineered by Hitachi with simplicity in mind. The inverters are designed to fit into small spaces. Multiple units of NES1 series inverters can be installed side by side without any gaps.
As inverters typically require space at the top and bottom for ventilation, installers can opt for the FFM top cover which channels the airflow to the front. This effectively reduces the space at the top and bottom to as low as 2 cm in between inverters.
System technicians will have little difficulties in operating the NES1 series inverters. The inverter can be installed with either the standard operator panel or the option operator panel. The standard operator panel provides a single button for run, stop and reset while the option operator panel is used for configurations.
While the NES1 series features a simple design, the inverter is built to conform to global standards such as CE, UL, c-UL, and cTick. The inverter is also configurable to comply with both sink and source logic in operation.
System installers can enable the RS485 Modbus-RTU port on the NES1 series inverter to function as part of a larger network. This allows remote operation of the NES1 inverter. The communication cable is connected to the RS485 port on the standard or operator panel.
The NES1 series is built for optimal energy savings. Various functions are provided to minimize energy consumption when it’s operating. This makes the NES1 series suitable for applications like pumps, food processing machines, fans, and air conditioners.

NES1-040HB - 1. NES1 Series FFM Top Cover
The NES1 series inverter can be fitted with an optional FFM top cover. The FFM top cover functions to channel ventilation to the front, thus reducing installation space at the top and bottom. Besides, the FFM also improve derating properties on certain models, improve capacitor lifespan, and prevent dust from entering the unit
NES1-040HB - 2. NES1 Series Operation and Programming
A notable feature on the NES1 series inverters is the ease of operation and programming. The inverter is fitted with a standard operator model which enables single-button operation for run, stop and reset. An optional operator panel with LED displays and buttons is used to program the parameters of the inverter.
