Overview
Yaskawa’s P1000 series is an industrial fan and pump drives that support variable torque loads of up to 1000 HP. The drives are built to be robust and to operate in the harshest of conditions. Testings have shown that the P1000 drives boast an exceptionally long mean time between failure of 28 years.
The P1000 series is an enhancement of previous models featuring the latest IGBT power modules with better thermal management capacity. The drives are engineered with self-diagnostics and short circuit detection module to minimize the risk of faults during operation.
The installation of the P1000 series is aided with the removable I/O board. In the case of replacement, the wires can be left connected to the I/O board, which minimizes operation downtime. Besides, the drive features a backup memory, where the existing configurations can be downloaded to a new drive.
Parameter setup and on-going monitoring on the P1000 series is made easier with the on-board LCD display and keypad. System installers can access the preprogrammed application presets to configure common HVAC, fan, and pump systems quickly. The drive is also built with a real-time clock, which enables the time-stamping of historical event logs.
There’s also a great amount of intelligence built into the P1000 series, that prevents mechanical failure during system faults. The underload detection module halted the drive when a fan belt or pump shaft failed. Active noise reduction on the load is also possible with the drive adjusting the output voltage based on the load feedback.

The P1000 series pump and fan drives are built to aid efforts in preventive maintenance. Exceptions and alerts are displayed on the drive’s special monitor. The exceptions can also be used to trigger auxiliary outputs or relayed to a centralized server for further actions. 2. CIMR-PU5A0062FAA PI Process Control Loop
The P1000 series drive operates with two distinct control loop. The first loop changes the drive speed accordingly to the sensor and setpoint feedback, while the second control loop with independent feedbacks can control a load separately from the drive. Sensors linked to the drive can be powered with the built-in 24V DC, 150 mA supply.
