Overview
ACS800 is ABB's answer to industrial drives that are available both as complete AC drives and/or as modules to meet your requirements as a user, OEM or system integrator. Single drive module configurations contains aa rectifier, DC link and an inverter in one single AC drive unit. They can be installed without any additional cabinet or enclosure and are available in wall-mounted, freestanding and cabinet-built constructions. They are specifically designed for industrial applications in process industries such as the pulp & paper, metals, mining, cement, power, chemical, and oil & gas. The ACS800 series is available as wall-mount, cabinet-built, regenerative, low harmonic, air-cooled and liquid-cooled constructions.
The ACS800 supports 208 V to 690 V for 3-phase voltages. The degree of protection is at least UL Type 1 (IP21), and higher protection classes are available as an option. Installation of the ACS880 is made simple with its compact size and integrated input chokes or EMC filter along with its built-in braking chopper.
The flexibility of the ACS800 is empowered by the optional accessories, including control programs, EMC-du/dt and sine filters, fieldbuses and I/O extensions. Installers can also program the drive with DriveWindow, DriveWindow Light, DriveAP, and DriveBrowser.

2. ACS800-U11-0050-5-2 PC-Tool Software
ACS800 has four different programs that allow the user to do a wide variety of things:
- DriveWindow
- Software designed for online ACS800 drive commissioning and maintenance purposes. Connection to the drive is through a USB card and high speed fiber optic cable. The drive requires an optional RDCO-0x adapter to support the fiber optic connection. Adjusting parameters, reading actual values, trending and graphing actual values is also possible.
- DriveWindow Light
- Software designed for ACS800 online drive commissioning and maintenance purposes. Connection to the drive is through an RS-232 connection to the panel port. Requires additional hardware for panel port connections. It is possible to adjust parameters, read the actual values, trend and graph actual values.
- DriveAP
- Software programming package for utilizing the 15 PLC-like programmable blocks included with ACS800 standard drive firmware. This is a graphical programming tool for the adaptive programming feature.
- DriveBrowser
- Software is designed for online drive commissioning and maintenance purposes. DriveBrowser uses a computer's standard Ethernet port to an EtherNet/IP or Modbus-TCP drive network. The drives require configuration and connection to an EtherNet/IP or Modbus-TCP network.
