Overview
The SJ-P1 series is Hitachi’s answer for the growing demands of a powerful, high-performance frequency drive. The VFD features high starting torque, which makes it efficient in controlling heavy loads. It can control both induction and permanent magnet AC motors, with an auto-tuning feature to boost motor performance.
With automatic speed adjustment, the SJ-P1 series reduces incidences of trips from over-current, over-voltage, and impact load. The drive is engineered for energy efficiency, which makes it an ideal choice for fans and pumps. It is designed to operate up to a maximum of 590 Hz with V/F control, making it a great option for metal processing applications.
Hitachi’s innovation is apparent in the SJ-P1 series intuitive operation panel. It features a TFT display and operational buttons to aid installers in setting up and commissioning the system. The status of the VFD is visualized as icons on the display while the TFT display shows the respective parameters.
The installation of the SJ-P1 series is simplified with a separate panel mounting bracket. It makes mounting inverters of different sizes easy. The cooling fan and capacitor of the SJ-P1 series are also durable, with an estimated lifetime of 10 years. An internal monitor keeps track of the component’s lifespan.
SJ-P1 series supports Hitachi’s EzSQ programming function, where logic algorithms can be created and loaded to the drive. The parameter and logic can be copied from one drive to another by using the operational panel as a transfer module.

2. P1-03720-HFUF Intelligent programming with EzSQ
By using Hitachi’s EzSQ programming, the SJ-P1 series can be programmed to operate without relying on external circuits and sensors. Internal parameters can be calculated to determine the behavior of the drive, which eliminates the need of additional components.
3. P1-03720-HFUF Built-in regenerative braking circuit.
The SJ-P1 series features a built-in regenerative-braking circuit, which safely channels the excess energy from the motor’s deacceleration. It saves cost and space for an external braking circuit.
